I came up with the term “Deceptive Competitive Strategy”, a quick google of the term will bring no valuable result around the topic because like I said – Its a word i coined by myself and its still very new. I have actually had this concept in my head for a very long time. lets say about 7 months and have wanted to write about it but the time wasn’t right, is the time ever right? This is the “Deceptive Competitive Strategy” concept in a nutshell – A business (preferably small to medium sized enterprise) creates two (2) businesses that does the exact same thing, sells the same product and offers the same services but with different names and websites.

Video: 3 Effective Elements of A Strategic Business Plan for SMEs

When words like Strategic Business Planning gets thrown around the average small business owner, you get reactions from them like “Strategic Business bla bla bla is used by top corporations – who have the resources, time and money and not by small businesses who spend most of their time with the day to day running of the business”.

Customer Life Cycle Questions and Your Sauce. Yes Sauce!

Ouch! Been a while I wrote a blogpost. I was busy rounding up and putting final touches to my MSc dissertation – That thing almost took my life! But am back, stronger, wiser and of course more handsome! 🙂 Okay! back to business. As a business owner, it is quite important and interesting to understand and know what your customers are thinking about or their behaviour when in the process of buying your product or service. This in other words is called Customer Life Cycle. 

Customer life cycle describes the customer journey and progression of steps a customer (your customer) goes through when contemplating, purchasing, making use of, and maintaining loyalty to a product or service (preferably yours).

There are 4 stages in the customer life cycle and at each stage, the customer asks different questions. Smart business owners have the answers to those questions in their product offering and below I provide THE SAUCE for each stage and questions posed by your customers. (more…)
